Hunter Cressman + Yashoda Devi Ma

I loved learning and connecting with others on retreat. The food was incredible, the location was beautiful, and the people spectacular.

Both Hunter and Yashoda embody light, connection, and groundedness. I knew I wanted whatever they were having!

Since the retreat, I feel energized when I start my day with meditation and I feel more grounded and energized when I pause to meditate in the afternoon.

About the Farm

Sarah Anderson

Living a simple and purposeful life includes a passion for sustainability and preservation. Sarah Anderson’s home, Chateau Sonoma Farm, was born out of this passion, along with a thirst for healthy living, a sense of community and a desire to give back.

Located in Sonoma, Sarah is inspired by the idea of growing as much as she can in her own back yard to eat according to the seasons and provide locally grown produce to her favorite restaurants and purveyors. She also preserves as much of the produce as she can to supply her pantry at home and Chateau Sonoma throughout the year. Based on the season, she grows cherry tomatoes for her Moroccan Tomato Jam, plums trees supply her with fruit for their Plum/Elderflower jam, and the honey provided by her bees is harvested annually from the hives and jarred up for your enjoyment. During the peak season, the farm supplies Chateau Sonoma with vibrant greens, flowers and eggs.

She continues to add products to the Chateau Sonoma pantry that are inspired by her love of France including olive oil, specialty salts, fig vinegar and herbs de Provence.

Contact us if you haven’t learned Vedic Meditation yet, and you wish to join a future wellness retreat at Chateau Sonoma Farm.

We’ll keep you informed with upcoming retreats and opportunities to get started with meditation.

The Design of Conscious Living

Conscious Living means to live as your most vibrant, authentic, and fulfilled self. Through advanced Vedic techniques, knowledge, and holistic eating, you’ll learn how to further elevate your consciousness, and design a life of greater peace, presence, and purpose.

Activating the full potential of your mind, body, and spirit also benefits your community and the world as your true nature begins to radiate through your work, your passion, your relationships, and simple day-to-day interactions.

During our Wellness Weekend for meditators, you’ll learn and practice an advanced technique called Rounding (aka ‘industrial-strength meditation’).

You’ll also get to experience the Three Powers of Conscious Living: Sound, Space, and Energy.

  • The Power of Sound: Learn new mantras and master their vibrational benefits with Yashoda Devi Ma

  • The Power of Space: Learn about traditional Vaastu architecture for home design with Hunter Cressman

  • The Power of Energy: Discover your unique pranic diet with guest teacher, Meredith Hart

You’ll have a moment to relax by the pool after enjoying a gourmet garden lunch with farm-to-table vegetables prepared by our local renown chef.

There are the options to attend both days, Saturday only, or Sunday only. Rounding instruction will be consistent on both days, however knowledge talks will be different on each day. The preference is to attend both days, as you will get the most out of the full experience. If you haven’t learned Rounding yet, you must attend on Saturday in order to learn.

What is Rounding?

Rounding is a systematic procedure derived from the ancient Veda* that's designed to purify the mind and body at the deepest level. This process consists of a specific sequence of easy yoga poses (asanas), balancing breath work (pranayama), meditation, and horizontal rest.

The simplicity and efficiency of the technique produces powerful results when done back-to-back, in a group, and regularly at home. Performing the proper progression with the correct intention allows deep-rooted stresses to release and brings the nervous system back into balance.

Effortless purification of the mind and body through Rounding can bring you to a greater state of calm and clarity more quickly. It's easy to learn regardless of your physical fitness, and you can incorporate this advanced practice into your daily life at home for enhanced benefits.

The retreat helped me advance my meditation practice and I gained more knowledge to live a more peaceful, graceful life. I feel elevated and uplifted with a greater sense of equanimity. It’s become much easier not to be reactive in challenging situations.

I really enjoy the simplicity, depth and authenticity of Vedic meditation and Vedic knowledge. Hunter and Yashoda make a great team. They are both wonderful people with incredible insight. I will definitely join a retreat with them again.

*What is the Veda?

The Veda is the ancient record of spiritual experiences and the source of the arts and sciences of meditation, yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and Eastern philosophy. It’s a multi-faceted body of knowledge that contains many universal applications relevant to modern living. This complete system of knowledge is made available to compliment your meditation practice and support the evolution of your wellbeing.

Yashoda and Hunter are both extremely knowledgeable and serene to be around. They created a warm atmosphere and their recommendations allow us retreaters to have choices, which gave me space to grow into my independence.
